Outdated is exactly the word.
Institutions created and developed based on what people tended to think, and in conditions extremely different to the ones we deal with now.
Now, one of the only things keeping us locked into them is the tendency to cling, and to not transcend our thinking in order to align ourselves with what insights and understandings we have today.
The current systems, as I see them, are endless failures, and the consequences of clinging to them are bloodshed, division and misery. I don't see that changing until people willingly give up the faith they keep placing in these systems; that they can be fixed, if only they get the right person in office or if they just change a policy here and there.
